The Toorak Cosmetic Surgery Centre was established by Bryan Mendelson to provide a total facility for the needs of aesthetic surgery patients in Melbourne.

Its design was modelled on the leading surgical facilities in America, to provide the highest level of surgical care. It was Melbourne's first specialist surgical day care centre and continues to meet or exceed the standard for major hospital day care centres.

In 2000 a dedicated Skin Care Clinic and Specialist Injecting Clinic were added to the Centre, providing patients with the best non-surgical facial treatments in addition to the surgical procedures, and completing it as a comprehensive facility dedicated to the aesthetic care of the face.

The Centre brings together the best surgical and non-surgical facial procedures from around the world, where they are available in the relaxed and tranquil environment which patients already know and trust. The emphasis is on providing long term facial solutions which meet not just the immediate needs, but also support and complement people's changing needs and future requirements.

The Skin Care Clinic 
 

Hours: Tuesday to Friday 9am-5pm
Wednesdays, evening appointments to 7.30pm

Our Skin Care Clinician, Christopher Apostolou, has recently taken delivery of the latest (fourth) generation IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology, the first of its kind in Melbourne .

IPL has now virtually replaced laser for skin care and, in this latest form, provides a gentle but highly predictable method of reversing sun and age related skin damage. This includes thread veins, ruddy and uneven complexions, facial hair, broken capillaries, brown pigmentation, age spots and sun damage on the face and neck. IPL also forms the basis for PDT (Photo-Dynamic Therapy), an advanced therapy for damaged skin cells.

In addition to IPL, Christopher continues to provide facial treatments using some of the purest skin care available, including the very popular Pomegranate Peel. These products work directly on the deepest layer of skin cells, rejuvenating and stimulating their activity. The result is a refreshed skin with improved texture, tone and colouration.

Thursdays 9am to 12 noon

The Specialist Injecting Clinic is a very popular and busy part of the surgery. Our specialist nurse, Nuala Naughton, uses a wide range of injectable dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle treatments and during 2007 is visiting clinics in France to review the latest techniques.

In recent years, injectable products have evolved beyond their original role and are now being used in a variety of ways. For instance, they provide a highly effective treatment for open pores and can enable people with heavy, muscular faces to achieve a more sculptured jawline.

As a result, injectable products have become increasingly useful and patients may well find that these products can suit their needs in previously unthought of ways.
