Aftercare

Our commitment to complete patient care – from the initial consultation through to the surgery, recovery and beyond – has been designed to create a total healing and well-being environment.

Listed below are just some of the aftercare services we provide to help you feel confident, reassured and comfortable during your post-operative days.

In the two weeks after surgery, you will have a schedule of up to seven visits to the surgery, for post-surgical consultations with our aftercare nurse, and for a range of hairdressing and skin care services. These are designed to help your recovery, both physically and emotionally and we consider this to be one of our most important patient care services.

The period after significant facial surgery can sometimes be an emotional time, especially if you are also ‘moving on’ with some aspect of your life, such as after a divorce or similar upheaval. Our aftercare team, lead by our specialist aftercare nurse, is experienced at caring for people.  We keep close contact with you and ensure that you feel emotionally supported. We are good listeners and many patients have appreciated our confidential and caring support during this time.

	On day three after a facelift, patients receive a complimentary hair-wash from Jo Rosenow, a highly experienced hairdresser who has been working with us for over 10 years. She visits either in hospital or at the surgery at the same time as a post-operative visit, to wash and blow dry your hair.

	Physiotherapist Joan Korman, who has 25 years experience in face lift aftercare, visits on day four or five after surgery to perform ultrasound treatments, which bring warmth into the tissues to reduce swelling in the face. ‘Most people feel an immediate benefit following this gentle treatment,’ says Joan.

Bryan Mendelson likes to see each patient again for a follow-up consultation at four months and then a final consultation at 12 months, so he can examine the final, complete result. (The cost for these consultations is included in the initial fee). He also invites you to return for a visit at any time, so he can keep in touch with your new life, after surgery.
