Patient Care
‘The information and care provided is of an exceptional standard’
The most frequent feedback we receive from patients is their appreciation and gratitude for the care and support they received both during their surgery and, most importantly, in the weeks afterwards. In this section we explain some of the services we provide to ensure your wellbeing throughout but, of course, what patients remember most is our level of personal care and involvement.
Choosing to have plastic surgery is a major decision and a big part of people’s concern is often about the step into the unknown regarding the recovery process. Without having previous experience, you may be concerned about how you will cope, not only physically but also emotionally, especially if you choose to do it alone and not want to involve your family or friends.
This is where our experience has helped so many patients. We know what people go through after surgery and also know that having supportive and experienced people by your side makes a major difference to your sense of security as well as easing your recovery. Accordingly, our support processes take you from your initial consultation through to the day you return back to your normal life – and beyond.
The experience of plastic surgery can be quite different to what people expect, and not at all how it appears on TV and in the media. To be ‘out of circulation’ after your surgery, with enforced free time and yet unable to do things or catch up with friends, is a situation most people have not dealt with before.
Yet, if helped and given proper support, most people look back fondly to this unique time as being one of contented reflection, taking stock and reordering life’s priorities. For many, it’s a time of unexpected psychological growth and insight.
In the lead up to your surgery, we help you to understand what to expect and assist you to plan for it, so when your day of surgery arrives you are fully prepared. You may be surprised at how much preparation is involved and how helpful it is to have someone guide you through.
But it’s after your surgery, during the longer recovery phase, that our experience, presence and support are most appreciated by patients. You will received detailed ‘Healing Notes’, specific to your procedure and written personally by Bryan Mendelson, so you know what to expect at each stage. A series of post-operative visits is also scheduled, as well as a course of physiotherapy and skin care treatments for more major procedures. And, of course, personal chats to help you through the highs and lows which often occur at this time. This personal interaction from our experienced, caring staff is perhaps the most beneficial of all, enabling you to turn your recovery into a positive experience and ensuring you are rested and ready for your return to normal life.
