Mid Cheek Lift

Addressing premature ageing and laxity
Located between the eyes and mouth, the mid-cheek is an important area of facial communication. The isolated mid-cheek correction – also know as the ‘concentric malar lift’ – is a major, recent advance in aesthetic surgery. The procedure addresses premature bags of the lower lids and heavy nasolabial folds which occur when the underlying bone structure is not well developed.

Why choose a Mid-Cheek Lift?

The cheeks look smoother, higher, rounder and fuller after a mid-cheek lift has been performed, particularly if augmentation of the bone using hydroxyapatite has been performed. The appearance of the top of the cheek and lower lid are improved with correction of the eyelid bags and with less wrinkles in the lid skin.

How the surgery is performed

The mid-cheek can be corrected either as an extension of the facelift through the usual facelift incision in front of the ear or by the concentric malar lift. This procedure is performed through a minimal lower eyelid incision that is concealed under the lashes. This is the only incision required and is invisible when healing is complete.

Who will benefit from this procedure?

The relatively new procedure, a mid-cheek lift is ideal for people whose ageing changes are mainly in the mid-cheek area, and for those who have undergone a previous facelift and now wish to further improve their appearance.
