Breast Augmentation

“I believe that augmentation mammoplasty should provide patients with breasts that look natural for their body, without any evidence to suggest that they are the result of surgery...”

Breast augmentation is a procedure Bryan Mendelson has specialised in for many years. His belief is that after augmentation, the breasts should look and feel soft and natural, so the implants are undetectable even by your general practitioner.

To achieve this, he places the incision well away from the breast, hidden in the hair-bearing skin of the armpit. He places the implant behind the pectoral muscle (see illustration), which is important for many reasons. Firstly, it minimises the risk of capsular contraction, which occurs when an implant becomes encased in scar tissue. This common problem of breast implants is more prone to occur when the implant is placed in front of the pectoral muscle. Secondly, placing the implant behind this muscle means it is less detectable and that the augmented breast moves naturally, falling slightly to the side when the woman is lying down, just like a natural breast.

Bryan Mendelson has performed thousands of these procedures, constantly refining the technique to ensure a natural appearance and feel, without scars and with a softness that lasts over the years.
